Bangkok Rainbow Organization (BRO) is a non-profit organization founded in May 2003. We have been recognized by Public Health Department and other government agencies as a leading volunteer group specialized in gay issues.
What We Do ? BRO provides advices to local and foreign media representatives locally when covering gay issues in BRO organizes events such as seminars and workshops with funds from donations and sponsorship mainly by Thai Health Promotion Foundation, a unit under Prime Minister’s Office. The group is very active in accessing to public via various media channels with well-attended programs such as talks on controversial issues and casual meetings on various topics aimed at promoting the better understanding of homosexuality and its related issues Thailand.
Mission To create well understanding in society with GLBT and establish GLBT self esteem. Also, to develop GLBT groups to have a better life quality.
Goal 1.To develop GLBT group to have a better life quality. 2.To create well understanding in society and establish their own self esteem. 3.To reduce prejudice and the unfairness sexual reaction in Thai society. 4.To possibly change behavior and develop a positive potentiality within homosexual group. 5.To promote a well sex health and knowing safe sex within homosexual group.
Activities 1. Activities that create more understanding via the media: TV show, movies, radio, magazine 2. Activities that cooperate with the government and private agencies: 3. To fight against those TV show, TV commercials or issues that address negative side of Gay and Lesbian 4. Academic activities: Seminars, Conferences, Student Researches about GLBT. 5. Aids Awareness Campaign: Counselling , Hot Line, Drop In Center for GLBT 6. Rainbow Media AwardsPresentation , to media groups who are creatively produce news and works of GLBT 7. Organizing Gay Parade on Silom Road (Bangkok Pride) 8. Tourist Services : Sight-seeing Activities, Booking hotel and arrange gay program for gay tourist (Cheep and Gay friendly places) 9. Cooperative with Journalist,Book,TV Program,Movies presenting good image for GLBT. 10. Organizing Gay Marketing Siminars, Big Gay Party,Gay EXPO
